Global Real Estate Advisor
More information about me.
As a former owner/operator of a purebred cattle ranch, Greg Thatcher finds that his work in that industry required surprisingly similar skills as his work today in real estate, in terms of client relationship and service. Greg achieved substantial success at regional and national levels in that business and has sat on and been head of national industry boards. He was drawn to real estate due to his interest in different types of homes and properties, as well as his passion for negotiating. Greg has been married for more than two decades to Diane, who was born and raised in Manhattan Beach. They have twins-a boy and a girl-who keep the couple busy with high school sports. What would you like potential clients to know about you? "I have a p retty straightforward business model: I treat your interests just as I want my interests handled. It is my responsibility to make sure the client's interests and expectations are always the focus of our relationship. Treat others like you want to be treated-unfortunately, something that is not always remembered today." What does it take to be the best in the business? "It takes a commitment to focus solely on the needs of your clients. To be prepared. To understand what they are looking for and exceed their expectations." How do you give back to your community? "I am involved with kids' schools, sports, etc." What do your clients love about living in the South Bay? "Everyone loves the weather. Terrific schools for their families. A little more relaxed lifestyle that is still conveniently located close to LA." In what ways do you provide top-notch service to your clients? "I really focus on being as prepared as possible. Buying or selling can be both stressful and time-consuming. I work very hard to make sure the process is as pleasant and relaxing as possible, while doing everything I can to make it as efficient as possible in terms of time management for the client." What's most rewarding about your work? "The satisfaction when you give the keys to a first-time home-buyer is hard to beat-and knowing that I negotiated the best deal for my clients." What keeps you interested in real estate? "In the South Bay we are given an opportunity to work with some of the most valuable real estate in country as well as the opportunity to meet a wide range of clients. Also, the challenge and resulting satisfaction of negotiating the best deal possible for your clients." Tell us about your team. "I am fortunate to work with the best group of fellow agents in the area and utilize experienced escrow officers, title reps and loan officers who I know will deliver the type of customer service I expect for my clients." Do you have a personal motto or philosophy for doing business? "I treat people how I want to be treated. I handle their assets with the same care that I would want for those of my own family."
