More information about me.
As a daughter of a contractor, real estate sales has long been a strong passion for Mary Kate Lancaster. She grew up learning the housing market from a builder's perspective. After working in the field of customer service for four decades, she decided to put her experience to work for real estate clients. Mary Kate joined South Bay Brokers in November 2003 because, she says, "they have such a positive reputation in the South Bay and are the leading edge in real estate for the Beach Cities community." She has been trained in real estate marketing e-technology, is a Certified HAFA Specialist (CHS) and holds a Short Sales and Foreclosures Resource certification (SFR). Mary Kate enjoys spending time with her family (two adult children, Kellie and Kyle, and husband, Steve Curtis), playing golf, writing and photography. What would you like potential clients to know about you? "I am a lifetime resident of the South Bay, and I know the neighborhoods. I am aware of the pitfalls and roadblocks that can hamper the sale or purchase of a property. So whether you are a first-time buyer or an experienced investor, I will help you choose the right property, make an offer, negotiate the best terms and successfully close the deal. I am surrounded by a team of experts who assist me in creating a tailor-made environment for each individual client." What does it take to be the best in the business? "Because home purchases and sales require an enormous amount of legal paperwork, it is so very important to continue to educate yourself. Staying up-to-date on contract changes, disclosure laws and market changes allows me to offer my clients 100%-plus." Who is your typical client? "Luckily, I have had the opportunity to work with all different types of clients-from first-time buyers to investors. This has really helped me grow in my real estate knowledge." In what ways do you provide top-notch service to your clients? "Whether buying or selling a property, my goal is to de-stress the process. My responsibilities include managing and facilitating, negotiating, writing and fostering the execution of contracts." How do you give back to your community? "I enjoy donating to my favorite charities and local organizations (Ocean of Hope for the Sarcoma Alliance, Breast Cancer Angels and World Vision) and Baycities Community Church-whether it be money or supplies for those in need."
